Boo at the Zoo!

Halloween is on a Tuesday this year, which means that this weekend is when most of the Halloween activities will take place. Every year the Kansas City Zoo hosts Boo at the Zoo! The event is a fun for the whole family and for the kids. The children can trick-or treat at the zoo while also enjoying plenty of Halloween activities and entertainment. You and your family can dress up in costumes to wear while you explore the zoo. Animal themed costumes are definitely welcome! Special treats will be passed out during the activities. Part of the event will include animals smashing pumpkins. On Saturday, gorillas will smash pumpkins at 11 a.m., chimpanzees will do it at 1:00 p.m., and orangutans will get their chance at 2:00 p.m. On Sunday, the river otters will be smashing pumpkins at 10:00 a.m. The zoo is a safe and educational way to spend time with your children during their trick or treating. Friends of the Zoo, also known as FOTZ, can receive discounts and free admissions to the Kansas City Zoo with their membership. Friends of the Zoo also receive discounts and free admissions to partner zoos and aquariums across the country. Some companies offer discounted FOTZ memberships to their employees; check with your company to see if they participate. Friends of the Zoo members can exclusively trick or treat at a time separate from the general public.
