Better Patient Comfort With Technology

July 22, 2021

We strive to ensure our patients always feel comfortable, relaxed, and heard. As part of our approach to patient comfort, we employ advanced technologies and even offer a wide range of amenities. In today’s blog, your Kansas City, MO, dentist will look at how we provide a better experience for each and every patient with technology.

Digital X-Rays and Intraoral Cameras

Instead of uncomfortable bite wings, and images that require development in harsh chemicals, we’ve opted for digital x-rays. Incredibly detailed images will be available instantly chairside, so we can walk you through the process. The system uses a fraction of the radiation, and doesn’t require bitewings. We also have intraoral cameras, which contain tiny digital cameras at the end of thin wands, so we can gather detailed images quickly and comfortably. We can combine these images to create a 3D computer model of your smile, meaning no more need for physical impressions. You don’t have to bite down on a mold filled with sticky and poor-tasting materials, the 3D impressions will be more accurate. This makes the diagnostic and planning process much simpler and easier.

Amenities

We also have a number of other amenities to make waiting for treatment, or even the treatment process itself, much more enjoyable. For example, we have bottled water, heated massage chairs, and big screen TVs in every room, along with headphones so you can hear your movie or show. There is also free parking off the street, and even electric vehicle charging stations. Being able to sit comfortably, and watch a movie or show, helps make the treatment seem faster. You also enjoy a more relaxed visit too.

IV Sedation

We also want to make sure you feel comfortable during oral surgical procedures, and to also help those with severe cases of dental anxiety remain calm and relaxed. We’re one of the only general dental practices in the community who offers IV sedation, the deepest form of dental sedation available. A trained anesthesiologist will administer the sedation and be on-hand throughout the procedure to monitor you and your vitals, adjusting the anesthesia as needed. You then wake when the procedure is over, with no memory of the treatment. The effects take a little time to wear off, so a friend or family member will bring you home, and we will provide detailed aftercare instructions.
