In-Office and At-Home Whitening
What’s the difference between our in-office and at-home teeth whitening, aside from the location in which you’ll undergo treatment? Our in-office option is great for those in need of immediate results. If you find yourself needing to attend a meeting or interview, then we can offer a brighter smile in about one to two hours. To begin, we will place a protective barrier on your lips and gums, and then add a powerful bleaching gel to the teeth. Using a special light, we activate the gel to begin breaking up your stains.
For those with tooth sensitivity, or more severe cases of discoloration, we may suggest our home-based option. You will come to the office only so we can take impressions of your smile and create a plastic tray. You will take the custom-made tray home, along with a powerful bleaching agent. Each day, fill the plastic trays with the gel and wear them for between 30 and 45 minutes. The trays are essential for ensuring the gel is spread evenly across your smile. The total treatment time will depend on the extent of your staining, but is usually between one and two weeks. For some, smiles could be brightened by multiple shades. You can then keep the trays and gel for future touch-ups. Preventive care, such as brushing and flossing and routine visits for cleanings, can help your smile stay bright.
