Could We Place Your Implants Same-Day?
In our previous blog, we discussed how we use dental implants to provide lifelike and long-lasting solutions to minor and advanced cases of tooth loss. We also explained how the process could take a while, as we need to wait for osseointegration to take place. But what if your Kansas City, MO, dentist could place your dental implants the same-day?
Don’t Suffer With Tooth Loss
When you lose one or more of your natural teeth, the resulting gaps in your smile could mean serious trouble for your overall oral health and smile esthetics. A missing tooth could cause you to feel embarrassed about your appearance, or even alter how well you speak and eat. For others, tooth loss could lead to misalignment as surrounding teeth drift from position. Poor alignment then means a greater risk of tooth decay and gum disease. The strain on your bite balance and jaw joints from missing teeth could also increase the risk of TMJ disorder and bruxism (chronic teeth grinding). To correct this issue, we could place dental implants, possibly in only one visit.
The Placement Process
We mainly offer same-day for cases of multiple missing teeth. If you have several missing teeth, we will first examine your smile to ensure you have enough jawbone tissue to support dental implants. If not, you may need to undergo jawbone grafting first. Using digital technology, we then plan and guide the implant posts into the jaw. Small, screw-like devices, these act as new roots and bond with the bone structure though osseointegration. They stimulate the growth of bone tissue to preserve your smile and facial structure, and ensure your new roots last for decades to come, possibly even a lifetime.
A New Tooth in One Visit
In the same visit, we could attach abutments to each implant post, and then use these to secure your prosthetic. We could attach a bridge, partial, or full denture. The prosthetic is then fixed in place, never needing removal for cleaning or care. They also never slip when you eat or speak! In the same visit, you can leave with a complete smile again, as we restore the function, health, and beauty of your smile. If you have any questions about how we replace missing teeth with a fixed prosthetic, then contact our team today. We want to make sure you smile, eat, and laugh with confidence again!
