Holidays at Union Station

“Holidays Come Alive” at Union Station in Kansas City was kicked off this past weekend on November 18th. This opens the door for an entire holiday season of activities and colorful lights. Holiday activities and events will take place at Union Station through the end of the year. The Astro Botanicals exhibit has opened; guests will be able to walk through a garden of inflatable, lit botanical sculptures. The “Holiday Swing” Indie Craft Fair is a big holiday event for Union Station. The fair features over a hundred handmade and vintage vendors of Strawberry Swing to Sprint Festival Plaza.
It is a perfect place to find holiday gifts for your friends and families. Founded in 2011, The Strawberry Swing has become a Kansas City tradition. There are different Swing fairs for each of the four seasons. It was even listed as one of the best holiday craft fairs in the USA. Union Square also features a miniature train for the kiddos to ride. The miniature train is often referred to as the Jones Store Train and beloved by many generations around the holidays. Throughout December, there will be a dance showcase with Santa Clause, a Merry Science exhibit with Mrs. Clause, holiday concerts, laser light shows, and piano recitals.
