Our Cosmetic Approach to Tooth Replacement
When we lose even a single natural tooth, this could lead to a series of complications, many of which may cause further tooth loss. Addressing your missing teeth is vital for keeping your smile healthy and whole. In addition to replacing lost teeth, we also take a cosmetic approach to ensure lifelike prosthetics that blend with smiles in Kansas City, MO.
Creating Your Prosthetic
Tooth loss has been linked to misalignment, a greater risk of tooth decay and gum disease, difficulties eating, problems speaking clearly, and even an aged appearance. In order to prevent these complications and offer an attractive solution to tooth loss, we will custom-make our prosthetics. We carefully examine your smile, taking detailed impressions of your teeth. Using the images gathered, we can design a prosthetic that fits comfortably and addresses tooth loss with accuracy and precision. We also use lifelike materials to create them, such as ceramic, which not only withstands powerful bite forces, but mimics the appearance of natural teeth. Whether you have a bridge or a full denture, you will enjoy a custom solution to missing teeth.
Dentures
We have two different types of dentures. A partial is meant for those with several missing teeth, including gaps spread out across the smile, but not enough to benefit from a full denture. The prosthetic contains a base made from acrylic, which looks like gum tissue. There will be replacement teeth and then metal clasps, which attach to the natural teeth and anchor the new ones in place. A full denture replaces every tooth on one or both arches. We use an acrylic base to mimic the gums, and a full row of custom-made teeth to restore the smile. Natural suction will hold your new prosthetic in place.
Bridges
If you’ve lost between one and three teeth in a row, then you may benefit from a dental bridge. The prosthetic will contain the new teeth, but with crowns attached to each end. We place the crowns onto the natural teeth on each side of the gap in your smile. The crowns secure the new teeth, offering a lifelike prosthetic that may last between 10 and 15 years with proper care and attention.
Dental Implants
For greater security and a longer-lasting prosthetic, we may recommend implant dentistry. A dental implant is inserted into the jawbone, acting as a new tooth. We then attach a crown for single missing teeth, or use multiple dental implants to secure a bridge or denture.
