Digital X-Rays
Every year, your dentist will recommend taking X-rays of your teeth and oral structures to update your dental records. If your dentist suspects an existing problem, then X-rays can also help provide a more accurate diagnosis. Digital X-rays rely on digital imaging technology rather than conventional radiology. Digital X-rays emit up to 90% less radiation than conventional methods, and the images are available instantly on a high-definition chairside monitor.
Intraoral Cameras
On average, you should attend a regular dental exam at least once every six months, during which your dentist will carefully check for signs of issues that require immediate attention. Intraoral cameras are small, digital cameras that can fit comfortably and non-obtrusively behind your teeth and in areas where your dentist cannot see clearly. The digital cameras project their images in real-time onto a chairside monitor to assist your dentist in providing a more comprehensive exam.
Intraoral Scanners (Moldless Impressions)
When you need a dental crown, bridge, or denture, treatment planning often involves taking a mold of your teeth and dental ridge to create the most lifelike restoration. With our digital intraoral scanners, we can take highly detailed impressions without the need for messy physical molds that can leave behind uncomfortable residue. Besides being more comfortable, digital molds are significantly more reliable and can produce precise measurements for the most lifelike results.
i-CAT Conebeam CT Scans
Computerized tomography (CT) scans utilize conebeam-shaped, digital X-rays taken from multiple angles. The scans create highly detailed images of your mouth, jawbone, teeth, and other oral structures. CT scans are not typically a routine part of preventive exams, but they are extremely useful when developing detailed treatment plans, such as dental implant placement.
3-D Printing (CEREC)
CEREC (which stands for Chairside Economic Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) is an innovative method of digitally designing and manufacturing a custom crown, veneer, or other porcelain restoration, all in just a single visit. The technique involves comprehensive digital imaging and measuring of your teeth and dental ridges, and then sending those measurements to an onsite, 3-D printing machine. Using the CEREC method, we can help you enjoy your newly restored and improved smile in just a single visit to our office, without you having to wait weeks while your porcelain restoration is crafted off-site.
